Nearly a year after his death, musician Gurrumul Yunupingu is set to have a posthumous album and documentary on his life released.

Producer and close friend Michael Hohnen hopes that the project will provide new insight into the singer’s upbringing and career.

This release marks a rare exception in Yolngu culture, where clan elders have agreed to allow the use of Gurrumul’s name, image, and voice, due to the significance of his legacy.
