Australia’s ivory trade laws may have been the cause of growing problems concerning poaching and illegal trade overseas, which have contributed to thousands of African elephants and rhinoceroses being killed.
At the beginning of this month, a parliamentary inquiry was made to judge whether illegally imported ivory has been sold as antiques in Australia.
After the inquiry, decisions as to whether the regulations are in need of a review will be made.
