Queensland has the highest rates of cancer in young adults aged between 15-24 as a result of high melanoma rates.
A new report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare found there are three hundred and thirty-six new cases per one million people in this age group.
If melanoma rates were excluded from the report, Queensland would have one of the lowest cancer rates among young adults.
