A Bundaberg recycling centre that employs 27 people with disabilities says their jobs are on the line because it cannot find a buyer for its product, after China has declared they will no longer take Australia's waste.

Chief executive of Impact Community Services, Tanya O'Shea said she is concerned about the long-term effect on staff, but is committed to keep everyone employed.

O’Shea says the government needs to come up with more sustainable solutions for Australia’s recycling, and has called for policy changes at both state and federal level to address the issue.
