For several years now, the ‘Mums 4 Refugees’ group have been supporting asylum seekers and refugees on Manus island and Nauru.
Kyogle Councillor Janet Wilson, who is a part of the group, said they’ve been sending packages, despite them often going missing and costing a lot to send.
They’ve connected with other groups to protest the detention of these people, and on a few occasions have even talked men down from suicide attempts.
