Iran’s net regulator stated sharing images and videos through the Telegram messaging app is prohibited.
This ban was declared after Russia’s continuous attempts to restrict the use of communication via messaging.
Telegram is said to have 50 million Iranian users and is considered a popular app due to its way of scrambling messages, which places the role of security services in a difficult position.
