According to the Department of Home Affairs, 75% of applicants for Australian citizenship would be waiting 13 months to hear about the decisions made on their applications.
The duration time for processing is three months longer than last October.
Tasmanian Greens Senator Nick McKim states,“People who want to make such an important commitment to Australia by becoming citizens should be respected by having their applications dealt with in a reasonable timeframe."
