Tens of thousands of teachers in Arizona, one of the worst paid states for educators in the US, set on another landmark strike over the wages and funding that has spread from West Virginia to Oklahoma.
Even though threats had been made to revoke their teacher licences, 57,000 Arizona teachers still voted to strike and participate in the walkouts.
Because of the walkouts, hundreds of public schools closed down.
