Authorities were notified at 7pm last night after an American hiker had failed to return from a bushwalk in far north Queensland.
Police say she is an experienced hiker and was carrying food, water and supplies.
An air and land search has been launched for the 25-year-old woman at Mount Sorrow in Cape Tribulation, North of Cairns.
