Australia has taken in a record number of 525,000 international students this year, 12% more than last year’s intake.

Recent Australian Bureau of Statistics data showed that the highest concentrations of new migrants are around university campuses and inner suburbs, highlighting potential inadequacies with the countries ability to deal with the intake.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said the increase in foreign students has been the largest driving factor in immigration growth, with annual education exports last year being valued at $28 billion by the ABS.
