The Queensland government has passed laws restricting farmers’ rights to clear vegetation from their properties.
Farmers from all around Queensland protested the laws, arguing the regulations will lead to forced downsizing of their businesses and higher prices in beef.
However, the state government says the laws will promote regrowth, protect wildlife and the environment from climate change.
