Hawaii has become the first US state to pass a bill banning the sale of any sunscreens containing chemicals known to harm coral reefs.
The bill bans sales of products containing oxybenzone and octinoxate, ingredients which scientists say contribute to coral bleaching.
The chemicals are currently used in 3,500 of the most popular sunscreen products sold in the US.
