During a search for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has uncovered two shipwrecks confirmed to be from the 19th century.

Experts from the WA museum examined sonar and video evidence collected from the wrecks, comparing data with historical records to assist identification.

Curator of maritime archaeology, Ross Anderson, was unable to specifically identify the ship due to degradation, but stated it’s likely to have sunk in an accidental explosion.
