More than 30 Queenslanders have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars after falling victim to a "Facebook Lottery" scam with one Mackay resident losing over $100,000.

Police said victims were contacted through their Facebook accounts, told they have won $7.5 million in the "Facebook Lottery" and need to pay a legal, late or admin fee to release the money.

Detective Acting Superintendent Melissa Anderson from the Financial and Cyber Crime Group has urged Queenslanders to be skeptical of these once in a lifetime offers.
