In a shock confession over Twitter, the Swedish government have admitted their national signature dish of “Swedish meatballs” actually originated from Turkey.
The Swedish national Twitter account confessed Swedish meatballs are actually based on a recipe King Charles XII (12th) brought home from Turkey in the early 18th century.
Turkish News Channel TRT World has welcomed the long overdue confession, with Ikea selling over 2 million meatballs a day, many Turks believe Sweden should not be selling the dish as though it were Swedish.
