Malaysia’s opposition parties have experienced their first election victory in six decades, voting for former authoritarian leader Matahir Mohamad as prime minister.
Mohamad previously held the role from 1981 to 2003, with this recent victory interrupting 60 years consecutive rule from Indonesia’s Barisan Nasional Coalition
At 92 years old, he will be the world’s oldest sitting head of government.
