Two Australian marsupials are willing to die for love and have been added to the endangered list as a result of their suicidal mating habits.

The tiny black-tailed dusky antechinus and silver-headed  antechinus are mouse-like marsupials discovered in 2013, facing struggles such as global warming and habitat loss.

Scientists are racing against the clock to save the male marsupials from themselves as their 14 hour mating sessions produce copious levels of testosterone, causing a stress hormone to destroy their organs.
