Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was abused at the Carindale Hotel on Thursday night after being served before other patrons.
A police spokesperson said a man was yelling abuse at the PM but was moved on after the incident and fairly apologetic once he realised what he had done.
The man was issued with an infringement notice for failing to leave the premises.
