The city council of Boulder, Colorado has voted to ban semi-automatic rifles following several recent mass shootings across America.
The decision was unanimously passed last Tuesday, banning the guns as well as high capacity ammunition magazines after the 27th of June.
Firearms rights advocate group Mountain States Legal Foundation plan to sue the city and officials for violating the US constitution.
