Prisoners in Venezuela have started riots at El Helicoide, the headquarters of the country’s secret service, after a political prisoner was beaten.
More than 300 political prisoners are being held in Venezuela, and several parts of the prison are now controlled by inmates.
The National Guard and Riot Police used tear gas on protesters who were pushing for political prisoners to be held in separate premises, to avoid further altercations.
