A bushfire warning has been issued this morning for residents of the Western Australia city of Albany, with officials saying people are in danger and need to act immediately to survive.

The fire reportedly has a front of 10-15 kilometres in width and is now being fanned by strong winds.

Residents of the Redmond, Marbelup, McKail, Elleker, Napier and Torbay suburbs have been warned to evacuate their homes.
