Brisbane City Council is moving ahead with its plans to remove cars from Victoria Bridge, but designs for the bridge don’t show any kind of coverage to protect pedestrians from the sun or rain.
In a recent survey, Victoria Bridge ranked as the second-worst walk and pedestrian experience in Brisbane.
Following the council’s new plan, pedestrians and cyclists will have to share the footpath as the road will be exclusively used by Brisbane Metro vehicles and other buses.
