The Australian Army is implementing small palm-sized Black Hornet Nano helicopters to help save lives on the battlefield.

The Black Hornet Nano is a small radio controlled helicopter weighing just 16 kilograms and fitted with two cameras, which can live stream video back to the operator.

20th Surveillance Target Acquisition Regiment, Brigadier Susan Coyle, said it will allow commanders on the ground to make more informed decisions and enhance situational awareness.
