Defamation law expert Professor, Barbara McDonald, said the majority of #MeToo cases in the US would never be made public in Australia due to our strong defamation laws.
McDonald said she believes Australia has a very strong case for defamation law reform.
This comes after journalist and founder of NOW Australia, Tracey Spicer, received thousands of sexual violence complaints which she couldn’t publish.
