A 33-year old Honduran transgender migrant has died while in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Officials are still waiting for the results of the autopsy to determine cause of death, she was however, admitted after showing symptoms of pneumonia, dehydration, and complications associated with HIV.
Anandrea Molina, spokesperson of a Texas-based Latina trans community, said the [transgender] community needs to organise to protect their most vulnerable, in particular transgender immigrant women, who are surrounded by violence on a daily basis.
