Malaysian Bodyguard On Death Penalty Could Be Sent Back Home

Malaysian bodyguard, Sirul Azhar Umar, who was sentenced to hanging in 2009, but is being held in detention in Australia, is likely to be returned home for a fair trial.

Umar was sentenced to death for murdering pregnant 28-year-old, Altantuya Shaariibuu in 2006.

Former Malaysian police commando, Anwar Ibrahim, says he wants Umar to be returned to Malaysia for a new trial following Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s political comeback to win the country's elections last month.
