Brisbane State High School has been forced to employ an investigator to expose families who are defrauding the catchment system so their children gain enrollment.
The elite State school has been pressured by rising student populations have asked the State Government to introduce a cap on enrolments to tackle overpopulation of students.
Parents of current students have heard stories of other parents buying investment properties in the area and pretending to live there just so their children qualify to attend the school.
The Education Minister Grace Grace has said that Government's plan to construct a new state high school by 2021 in a similar area would alleviate more pressure on State High than introducing a cap.
