Brisbane mayor, Graham Quirk, has said no to banning smoking in King George Square despite strong opposition.
The location has been names by locals as “the ashtray of the CBD,” but Quirk says the council received very few complaints about smokers.
Quirk said this year, the council has only received four complaint calls regarding smoking in the square.
