Ground-breaking technology is being trialled across New South Wales schools, after the Gonski 2.0 report found that standardized tests such as NAPLAN do little to identify student learning needs.
The new technology, Educyte tests literacy levels; students answer questions and the program registers which students need extra help with letters, sounds or words.
NSW Department of Education secretary Mark Scott said the technology provides teachers with effective learning diagnostic reports.
