The Supreme Court has ordered Brisbane towing company, tow.com.au, to surrender and destroy confidential personal data given to them by the Queensland Police Service.

Chief Executive, Dominic Holland, said he might be forced to sell what he described as “critically sensitive” details of more than 21,000 people, after the State Government terminated the company’s contract to tow and impound cars under anti-hooning laws.

The Supreme Court ruled he had no right to the supplied information under the contracts agreement, which Holland said included information ranging from drivers licenses to bank account details.
