The death of a woman in Logan this week has prompted the Pedestrian Council of Australia to call for reduced speed limits in built-up areas.

The pedestrian group wants 30 km/h speed limits in Brisbane and across the state, following an increase of pedestrian deaths from 14 in 2017 to 16 this year.

Chairman Harold Scruby, said the call wasn’t about taking away the responsibility of pedestrians, but about bringing Queensland speed limits in line with other countries.
