In late 2019, tourists to New Zealand will be stung with a new tax upon entering the country, but Australian citizens, people from Pacific Islands Forum countries and children under two years will be exempt.
The New Zealand government announced international visitors will be required to pay between $25 and $35 to get into the country.
The move reflects an ongoing debate within New Zealand about the environmental and infrastructure pressures put on the country by booming tourism growth.
