Brisbane MP Trevor Evans said he believed voters in his electorate will not risk a greens MP claiming the seat at the next federal election, as Andrew Bartlett resigned from the senate to focus on his run for Brisbane.

Former senator Larissa Waters will return to the senate to take Bartlett’s place, said she hoped to make a return as she feels there is still work to finish regarding the environment and cleaner politics.

She commended  Andrew Bartlett’s term in the senate, as she says a tower of ethics and has done a wonderful job in the senate.
