A research report by the Murray-Darling Basin Authority reveals numerous job losses have impacted the Murray-Darling Basin between 2000 and 2016.
According to the report, drought and population decline are attributed to a 37% decline in farm sector jobs and a 13% decline in all regional employment.
The report offers little encouragement to communities in the basin that continue to feel the effects of drought and stagnating ecosystems.
