Hairstylist and philanthropist, Jak Vaessen, who has previously raised more than $1 million dollars for local charities, was left disgusted, after a 24 hour sleep out in Brisbane’s CBD.
Vaessen said the sleep out was in response to the upcoming St Vinnies Sleepout.
Instead of sleeping with city leaders and other activists at the Brisbane Powerhouse for a night, Vaessen slept in the CBD and was surprised when only one person offered to help him.
He said that he wants to change how the public views homeless people, as he was made to feel embarrassed and ashamed during his sleep out.
