South Brisbane residents who have been protesting the removal of dozens of trees for a bikeway they state won’t be used have claimed their pleas to the government have been ignored.
The Kangaroo Point Bike Widening project’s first stage involves the removal of 40 trees along the Lower River Terrace.
The council plans to replace the 40 trees along the river after construction was done, further saying 89 per cent of the 200 submissions regarding the upgrade were positive.
