The latest migration data reveals Australia’s annual intake of permanent migrants has fallen to the lowest level since 2007 under the leadership of the Turnbull government.

The intake fell from 190,000 to 163,000 in the last financial year.

Member of the Australian House of Representatives, Peter Dutton, says the figures show a strengthening in Australia’s permanent visa program, but figures are yet to be uploaded to the government’s published migration statistics.
