Australia’s classis lolly, Life Savers, will return to Australian ownership and again be manufactured locally, after confectionary maker, Darrell Lea, bought the brand from Swiss-based food giant, Nestle.

Darrell Lea announced the change on Thursday, saying the production of Life Savers will move from New Zealand to Australia, where they were last manufactured in the early 2000s.

Darrell Lea chief executive, Tim York, said Darrell Lea would manufacture Life Savers at its production plant in south-western Sydney, in a boost for local employment.
