A man had been stopped at Brisbane Domestic Airport attempting to carry a handgun through the terminal.
Security staff spotted the man before he was apprehended by the Australian Federal Police late Tuesday afternoon.
Sources reveal the man travelled from the United States, but it remains unclear when he arrived.
