A serious piece of  information indicates that ‘criminal acts’ are to blame for the fires in Greece that have resulted in the death of 82 people.

Deputy Citizen Protection Minister, Nikos Toskas, told a press conference that he won’t hide from the public the  newly found information which led to opening the criminal investigation into what’s being considered the worst wildfire in Greece’s history.

The fire began in Mount Pentelicus and spread to the coastal region of Mati, east of Athens, on Monday, with the last fires being extinguished by Thursday.

The serious piece of evidence is yet to be revealed.
