The world’s largest colony of king penguins has declined by nearly 90 per cent within three decades, alarmed researchers said Monday.
The colony located on France’s remote Ile aux Cochon has barely 200,000 penguins left, satellite images and photos revealed.
Researchers believe the El Nino events amplified by global warming have a key role in the penguins population decline.
