Each cyclist will ride a total of 195km from Brisbane to Byron Bay. The ride gives participants and volunteers a chance to open a dialogue with each other and the community about the situation in Palestine. With your help cyclist will be raising money to donate to APHEDA for the Hebron Children's education project.
How your donations are spent
In the ancient city of Hebron, in occupied Palestine, education is a key victim of the continued Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In and around this area APHEDA and the Hebron International Resource Network (HIRN) are working to ensure access to education for Palestinian children. Through early education centres and a small school bus we’re helping children get a good education and have the best chance at achieving their dreams.
The Shuhada early education centre in Hebron relies on continued support to pay teacher salaries, purchase education equipment and keep the lights on. In the rural village of D’Kaika in the South Hebron Hills the APHEDA-funded school bus is ensuring teenage girls can safely access high school each day in the city. With your help we can continue this important work and expand to new areas.
