Estonia’s military is undergoing an investigation for the remains of a missile accidentally fired by a Spanish fighter jet.

The Eurofighter Typhoon from the Spanish Air Force was taking part in aerial drills for the NATO policing of the Baltic airspace when it launched a missile in southern Estonia.

The missile carries approximately 10kg of explosives, and although has a self-destruct feature for circumstances of this nature, Estonia’s military fear the missile may be on land and present a further risk.
