Destructive winds averaging 80 to 90 km/h are forecast for Victoria today, with gusts expected to peak above 125 km/h in higher areas.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for most of the state including Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, and Horsham.
Earlier this morning, northerly winds of 87 km/h were recorded at Melbourne Airport potentially delaying flights.
