India’s former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been put on life support following a rapid deterioration of his health.
The 93-year-old former journalist and poet, who served as the Indian premier for three terms, has battled poor health for several years.
Vajpayee is known for his hand in forming the Bharatiya Janata Party that is currently in power in India.
