Brisbane bus drivers receive training to deal with aggressive passengers

Brisbane bus drivers have received extra training for dealing with aggressive and intoxicated passengers.

The training followed recommendations in reports into bus driver safety, following the death of a bus driver who was killed in an attack while driving a bus at Moorooka in 2016.

Thousands of Brisbane bus drivers received situational awareness and de escalation training, which is now approaching a one hundred percent completion rate.

A council officer said it was too soon to see if the training decreased the number of incidents on buses.
