The north and south bound lanes of the Bruce Highway near Mackay have been closed due to ongoing investigations into a car and truck crash that happened early this morning.
It’s the second fatal accident within 24 hours in North Queensland after a petrol tanker collided with two cars north of Bowen yesterday afternoon.
This brings the 2018 Queensland road toll up to 184 to date, which is six more crashes than this time last year.
