Five men in Maharashtra’s (Duewell) Dhule India have been killed by a mob of villagers after false rumours were spread about them on social messaging app WhatsApp.
The men were wrongly suspected of abducting a girl they had been talking to, with the police later confirming the accusations as false.
There have been dozens of deaths in India, fuelled by fake news on WhatsApp.
