A new 3D-imaging diagnostic device is currently being developed which could dramatically reduce the rate of heart attacks, strokes and other conditions by helping to identify people at risk of a blood clot.

The Australian National University researchers are developing this new bio-optic device to help identify the risk of a blood clot before it happens.

Associate Professor Elizabeth Gardiner said that in the future the device will allow doctors to see if a patient is sitting in the red sector and if so, they will need to be operated on immediately.
