Popular Australian honey producer Capilano have been accused by the International Federation of Beekeepers'  of producing ‘adulterated’ honey, which has been mixed with something other than bee nectar.

This has led to criticism for the brand, as it is marketed as 100 percent pure honey.  Both a C4 Sugar Test was used, as well as Nuclear Magnetic Radiation test, both of which detected the honey to be filtered with other materials, such as sugar syrup.

Capilano rejects these claims, however, by claiming that it is pure and should not be tested against the ‘weaknesses’ of the Magnetic Radiation test.

Supermarket chains such as Aldi have already moved Capilano products, after these allegations.
